After the last feature one of the guys from Eye Gouging
Mayhem, Vomitoma, Reclusa, Black Mold Phallanx got in touch with me and hooked
me up with a few other essential projects, like this one, and some others that
he’d released sometime ago. I’m always looking for really solid, depraved, and
unique power electronics and sociopathic industrial and Lucifer’s Foreskin fits
the bill.
Although a very short EP, 10 minutes in length, there’s
actually a lot of meat to sink your teeth into. “Blasphemous Decomposure” is a
very faint layer of vaporous and bleak discontent and foggy distorted synth
with a slight screech and whir like a trains wheels along the steel rusted
tracks, over a monotonous and very groovy drum machine. It sounds like some
stripped down filed recordings of an abandoned factory in the rain modified
using a pole filter and some other classic analog effects. Short or not, this
2.5 minute opening track is a huge indicator of a seriously necessary project
underway…if this doesn’t turn into something ongoing I’m going to be tempted to
hunt the main man (Ray Rivera*) and sodomize him with a red hot steaming
curling iron. Okay, that’s a ridiculous statement to make, but hopefully it’ll
help make the case for why LF is ESSENTIAL and truly BRILLIANT.
It
also doesn’t hurt that the almost five-minute closer of “The Black Priest of
Circumcision” brings in a bit of Navicon Torture Technologies sadistic
murderous power electronics versus dark serial killer ambient and Benedictine
Monk chants (?). This track is seriously awesome!!!!! It’s very basic but
haunting and unusual, somewhat reminding me of acts like Alio Die, and yet
coming from such intense audio pioneers that came up with acts like Fellatrix
Morgue, Sewer Cunt, Eye Gouging Mayhem, Nunriders of Black Doom,etc. If you’re
looking for some serious substance and atmosphere, Lucifer’s Foreskin, this
stuff really does defy all boundaries and expectations!!!!!!
