New short blurbs about stuff that is really essential to hear (full reviews for some newer stuff coming but I think that I've hit a sweet spot with these here:
Vacant Brain: https://vacantbrain.bandcamp.com/
from the sounds here, I'm hit or miss on noise myself, but this one project came to me by means of Imploding Sounds and I had to purchase what I could find. I think that someone from Churner (long time fna myself) is/was involved but can't say for now, but this stuff is awesome just as is regardless of who is present here. It starts off on Brain Drain, as almost drone doom of sorts meets industrial, with some PE excursions (reminding me instantly of Annihilvs Records and Theologian) and I was/am hooked from "intellectual flushing" (link below) and am waiting to get this in my eager grubby hands and thoroughly dissect it, but for now I will settle with the bandcamp stuff. Much like the Theologian/NTT stuff, this project appears to ride along the edges of multiple genres and pulling from each along the way, erasing those boundaries and creating something that you just feel is different as the audio pulls you deeply in on first listen. This isn't harsh nose wall or anything out of the norm for that matter, although it's just that it IS !! It's kind of heard to explain but its similar with that incredible burger at some ho dunk trucker hub way back when, that even a decade or more later still comes to mind as the "best fucking thing ever" and gets your salivation jets squirting. Trust me when I say that this one is worth the full review but you can explore this and their other stuff on the bandcamp page below. Trust me when I say that its worth listening to.

I have to seriously get off of my proverbial ass and get on this stuff, but have resisted and tried to avoid getting involved too much but old friends, artitsts, listeners, gnereal supporters have been so generous to me even now that...btw, I save all of those handwritten letters and stuff, and am glad to have you all in my life in some form or other!! But I cannot step away when there is continuously incredible sounds coming out and the mere fact that they touch me in deep ways but 3-5 years even, between buys, you guys remember me! I do this for all of us, but you guys especially.
I just got a Machine Tribe tape today and have a few others waiting, but while I'm fleshing out work and this stuff, please check them out as well!

I grew up with old school and funk/soul and early hip hop but never got into the latter come the 90's but with this tape I was intrigued and like the dark hop idea, it's something I am considering doing even but through sampling and turntablism, etc. (I used to try to od this shit in the late 90's with a Technics 1200 set up but, recording and mixing it all together per a two channel mixer and Imac with bootleg software was a challenge (I was in college and it was a hassle time wise so I gave up around '05-'06). Hip hop at it's core is part of my heritage alongside thrash metal and death metal, but it was the old break beats...basically sampling of soul/funk riffs/rhythms that just caught me (minus the vocals though). But with everything meaning so much more now and genres being ripped to pieces and reassembled into gorgeous tapestries of sound I figure that what they are saying and doing now is even more interesting and very much needed like Sumac The Film with Moor Mother. I had to hide that record to give some others play time, it's astounding and I have experienced a lot of it first hand myself and the record at times just screams with urgency.
Check out that as well:

If this one doesn't send you spiralling backward into a wall from the sheer intensity...then I don't know what will. It's just that i can actually feel what she says because I've lived it myself, it's not about race as we all have similar lifelines and I have grown up so diverse that I can't differentiate anymore. These are human issues, NOT race issues, and nothing short of essential to hear and understand. This music is what we need NOW!! Please don't just take my words for it, listen for yourselves...that's The True Devil is driving at as well...pulling out those sociopolitical wedges and shoving up peoples asses!! That will certainly make someone pay attention too.
Again, i'm trying to juggle work/school (psychology/criminal justice) and write and it's tough because of the unable to cut/past shit on here but I can work with that. It will take time, but a lot of what I had written about is essential.
Check out Cryo Chamber as well for ritualistic sounds courtesy of Metatron Omega and Cauldon Glover (I've thoroughly reviewed these but ran into the cut/paste issue...again, I will get past it and you will see them) but two of my current favorites now are below:

I really do have to get moving on class work for today, but this should keep you busy in the meantime.
